Through personal interviews with community members like you, graduating 8th grade students will showcase achievements from their years at Egan. Volunteers are asked to sign-up for a 1 hour 45 minute session, allowing time for the interview session, portfolio review, orientation and feedback. Sessions are available from 7:30am to 3pm. We welcome parents of both 7th and 8th graders! Parents must accept or decline this invitation for students to receive extra credit in English class. Portfolio Day is a special event for eighth-grade students, faculty, and adult
volunteers. It provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate professional
skills, such as:
Communication
Collaboration
Creativity
Critical Thinking
Students are divided into small groups and assigned to one or two adults.
Student groups showcase their academic work as adult participants provide
feedback, ask pertinent questions, and help the students celebrate their
achievements. We believe this activity increases student motivation, builds a
sense of accomplishment, and fosters community involvement with the school.
Past community participants have truly enjoyed this invaluable experience.
Please click the link above if you are able to volunteer
(signing up will only take 2-3 minutes).
Thank you!
